All of our troughs include our innovative newly designed Ballcock Protection System.
Our aim is to supply a trough to the farmer which provides -
Strength, Durability, & Low Maintenance.
Our Precast Products Trough design uses good old Kiwi ingenuity. We have created a point of difference with our troughs, and our design is currently under NZ Patent Application No 755783 and AU Patent Application No 201921068.
The Precast Products Trough is totally unique to other troughs on the market. Our design provides stock with full access to the whole circumference of the trough, which means more animals drinking at any one time.
- The brass water inlet is under the trough, which eliminates damage to the inlet pipe.
- The brass inlet inside the trough is cast into the base of the trough in solid concrete.
- The ballcock float is situated in the middle of the trough away from the animal’s heads and the ballcock arm is protected by reinforced concrete in the bottom of the trough.
- No more broken ballcock arms.
- CLEANING. A cleanout bung is situated directly opposite the inlet (ballcock) allowing for easy yearly maintenance. Clean drinking water has a direct impact on milk production and stock performance. You never need to turn the water off to clean a trough again or cart a tank around to wash out the troughs. You can do it all from the ballcock, even hook up a water blaster if you need to.
The other advantages of the drain bung are;
- You can feed your break feeding line directly into the water source at ground level and run a smaller portable water trough inside your break feeding area. This stops the need to have your livestock tramping over previously grazed pasture and pugging it up.
- Your weed control can be carried out at the same time as your yearly trough cleaning duties. While the drain bung is out you have full access to the water source for filling your spray tank directly from the paddock instead of the long drive back to the shed or pump station.
- You can gravity feed other troughs below from the highest trough using the dran bung as a feed line to the lower troughs
